Volunteer for the Hike

Thank you for signing up to volunteer for the 13th Annual Hike for the Homeless on November 4, 2017! It takes 100 to 150 volunteers to make this event a success! Most of our volunteer opportunities are on the day of the hike, however there are some roles we need help with prior to the Hike, the day before the Hike and right after the Hike concludes. To sign up to volunteer at the Hike, complete the volunteer registration form below. You will receive an email notification that your registration was received (check your spam if you do not receive the confirmation email). We will be in touch two weeks before the Hike to confirm your volunteer role and give you more details. We encourage volunteers to form (or join) a Hike team to support the event. Make a donation if you can. Every dollar adds up to make a big impact. And be sure to help us spread the word about the Hike by sharing it on social media and asking others to participate.

Hike Volunteer Registration - 2017

  • PRE-Hike Day Volunteer Opps

    We have several needs for volunteers prior to the day of the Hike. Please check the boxes for which you are interested. If you are not interested in helping before the hike, please skip this section.


  • DAY BEFORE Hike Day Volunteer Opps (November 3rd)

    The day before the Hike is a key day with volunteer opportunities to load up the van, put out signs at the Hike site and more. Please check the boxes for which you are interested. If you are not interested in helping the day before the hike, please skip this section.


  • HIKE DAY Volunteer Opps (November 4th)

    It takes about 100 volunteers on the day of the event to make everything run smoothly. Please check all of the jobs for which you would be interested. We strive to assign you to one of your choices.


  • HIKE DAY- After Hike Volunteer Opps (November 4th)

    As the Hike ends there are a couple of special needs we have to wrap up the day. Please check below if you can help.


  • We would prefer each volunteer sign up separately using this form so we have all of the contact info and the Volunteer Hike Waiver signed in advance. But if you are signing up an entire team, or group, please indicate that in the space below AND provide names/email addresses of all those you are registering as volunteers in your group.
  • Please use this space to let us know any additional information, special needs or requests (including request to be placed in a volunteer assignment with another person or group). We will do our best to honor requests.


  • Volunteer Hike Waiver

    Please read the waiver below and check that you agree. This is mandatory for all volunteers. [NOTE: If you are under 18, you will to request a waiver from us by email for your parent/guardian to sign. Please email roconnor@safehaven.org for this waiver.]
  • Volunteer Hike Waiver I hereby waive all claims against Safe Haven Family Shelter and event sponsors and personnel for any injury I might suffer in this event. I attest that I am physically fit and prepared for this event. I grant full permission for organizers to use photographs of me and quotations from me in legitimate accounts and promotions of this event (including on social media).
