Picture1On Sunday, September 11, Safe Haven families in Council District 3 had a grand time at Family Fun Day at Fontanel. The event was sponsored by CORE (Community Organized Renewal Efforts), a group  in district 3 comprised of churches, businesses, Nashville Metro Police, the Neighborhood Resource Center and Councilwoman Brenda Haywood’s office. CORE sponsored this event to bring the community together to be informed about needs of the families and to make connections with resources in the neighborhood. Twelve families served by Safe Haven live in this district. A big thanks to Northside Church of Christ who provided transportation for our families allowing 14 individuals to attend. The families enjoyed great food, live music, a dunking booth, a car show, inflatable, face painting and games. The Nashville Metro Police department also brought their horses. It was a fun day for everyone and our families were able to meet others in their district and connect with needed resources.Picture2
