“Give With A Purpose” A Poverty Simulation

Newsletter Image poverty simulationSafe Haven and Catholic Charities are teaming up through the Family Empowerment Program to host a new event called “Give with A Purpose.”The event takes place November 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Catholic Charities and includes a light breakfast and poverty simulation.

The simulation, created by the Missouri Association for Community Action (MACA), will immerse community members into the poverty experience with the intention of literally putting them into our families’ shoes and walking them through their every day struggles. The simulation will be run by families experiencing homelessness who bring invaluable, real-life experience to the table.
