Families with children make up more than 30% of the homeless population
Art and Science Program: These creative volunteers lead specialized art, drama or music projects for children and families on afternoons, evenings and weekends. Science Volunteers conduct fun experiments in kitchen chemistry, bug discovery, gardening and star-gazing.
Childcare: Provide fun activities and childcare while parents attend Safe Haven classes. We need volunteers each weekday from about 7-8:30 p.m.
Homework Helper/Tutoring: Help children with reading, homework or special needs after school from 3:30-5:30 p.m. each weekday.
Sports/Physical Fitness: Lead specialized athletic or sports-related activities on afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Family Friend: Help families plan bonding moments – sports nights, movies, concerts and more.
