Help fill ongoing needs at Safe Haven.

For 37 years, volunteers have worked side by side with Safe Haven providing numerous service hours and meals. Volunteering has looked different recently, but volunteers have stepped up to make sure families had food, supplies, learning resources, and more. Thank you to our volunteers who help empower our families, encourage hope, and create smiles during difficult times.

Due to the pandemic, our volunteer opportunities have changed. Below is a list of our current volunteer opportunities. Please note that volunteers are required to wear a mask at Safe Haven and Safe Haven sponsored activities. To sign up to volunteer, please click here to complete a volunteer application. We will be in touch after you complete the application to set up a virtual training and to discuss volunteer opportunities. For general questions about volunteering, please email us.

Events:

Our most pressing need at this time is for volunteers to help with our signature event, the Hike for Safe Haven. This year’s Hike is November 13 at Edwin Warner Park. If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to complete this interest form.

General Volunteer Opportunities:

We often need help with things like sorting item donations, putting together boxes or kits of household items for families, or helping with special projects. Once you have completed a volunteer application, we will be in touch to talk about a virtual volunteer training and what volunteer opportunities we have available.

Children’s Program:

At this time, volunteer opportunities with the children and youth programs typically involve helping to put together learning resources, book boxes or other activity supplies.

Groups:

We will, on occasion, have group projects available. If your group or company is interested in volunteering with us, please send us an email.  We always need volunteers to help with the Hike for Safe Haven, which takes place in early November each year.

Administrative:

On occasion, we need help with our front desk, which includes answering phones, accepting item donations, and other administrative tasks. There is a one to two hour training for this role.
