Volunteers Needed to Provide Dinners for Families
We are happy to announce that our shelter building is open again (more details at the end of this post). As such, we need volunteers to provide dinners for families at our shelter building.
DETAILS ABOUT PROVIDING DINNER
Purchase and/or prepare dinner for families at the shelter building.
Meals should include an entrée, two vegetable dishes, dessert, and drinks (e.g., milk/juice for children and tea for adults).
To maintain safety for families and volunteers, we are asking that meals be prepared at home and dropped off at Safe Haven at 5:00 p.m. on the assigned day. Staff will distribute meals to our families.
Food allergy info will be provided to those who sign up.

ABOUT THE SHELTER BUILDING REOPENING
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Safe Haven Family Shelter quickly pivoted to house families experiencing homelessness in area motels. This approach was more successful than anticipated and even allowed us to serve more families than ever before while maintaining our high success rates and outcomes.
We are happy to announce that we reopened our shelter building on June 1st. We anticipate that reopening will allow us to maximize our resources and serve five families in our shelter building while also continuing to shelter families in motels. We are committed to reopening in a way that is as safe as possible for our families and staff, and we are making adjustments to our facility accordingly. We will stay in touch as additional volunteer opportunities arise.
